The modern American term “cookie”, came from the Dutch word “kookje” , meaning “little cake”. The American then invented a diverse cookie recipes, which then spreaded back to Europe and to the rest of the world. One of the example is the famous Toll House chocolate chip cookies made by Ruth G.
